PPSB is the nation's oldest and largest PDS agency with a network of more than 25 independent sales organizations/offices nationwide. This network of Independent Sales Organizations (ISO's) provides a valuable resource for magazine publishers seeking high-quality paid circulation. These independent dealers operate throughout the country selling magazine packages to consumers on a Paid During Service basis.

PPSB'S Paid during Service Division was founded in 1910 in Elgin, Illinois as "The Mother's Magazine Home Reading Club". This was at a time when magazine subscriptions were sold door-to-door and paid for weekly, or "during the service" of the magazines.

In 1918, George E. Cook, Vice-President of David C. Cook Publishing purchased the company, along with The Mother's Magazine, and moved the operation to New York City where is was organized under its new name, Periodical Publishers Service Bureau, Inc.

PPSB, Inc. was then purchased by the HEARST Corporation in 1924 and remained in New York City until its move to Sandusky, Ohio in 1941.

PPSB became a Subco company in 2012. We proudly continue the tradition of selling high-quality paid magazine subscriptions through our network of Independent Sales Offices. PPSB has its Home Office in Fresno, California and maintains an office in New York City.

Periodical Publishers' Service Bureau offers a wide array of services to publishers, their advertisers, retailers and manufacturers.
